Playing Statues

When Paul the-farmer-down-the-lane asked whether we could accommodate his 23 calves for a week we were happy to oblige. After the recent wet summer we have grass to spare, and calves make for adorable paddock ornaments donโ€™t you think?

Gratuitous photo of the cute calves currently adorning our paddock

Then, while I sat in the paddock waiting for the troughs to top up yesterday, I noticed a disturbing similarity between cattle and a certain predatory race encountered by the Tenth Doctor.

  1. More sweet than scary. ๐Ÿ™‚ I took a photo last night of the cows with their heads buried in the flax bush. Unclear whether they were eating it or just enjoying the sensation of swishing their heads through the fronds. They seemed very happy. And boy are they making short work of the buttercup!

    • They are very sweet, so curious, and given their buttercup chomping, also very useful. I’m looking forward to having a house cow.

  2. Ha ha they are very curious. They are keeping a United front. Poor little calves. Weeping Angels were my fav dr who aliens.

  3. Keep your eye on the white faced one staring at you. She’s o viously weighing you up for tenderness. ๐Ÿ˜†
