In just one weekend we added two kunekune pigs and five Wiltshire sheep to our livestock, more than trebling our previous stock count of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charmedlife.co.nz\/cowboybootsandbrokenfingers\/and-then-there-were-two\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">one-and-three-quarter<\/a> ponies*.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5210\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.charmedlife.co.nz\/cowboybootsandbrokenfingers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Stock1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5210\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5210\" src=\"http:\/\/www.charmedlife.co.nz\/cowboybootsandbrokenfingers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Stock1.jpg\" alt=\"Kunekune pigs\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.charmedlife.co.nz\/cowboybootsandbrokenfingers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Stock1.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.charmedlife.co.nz\/cowboybootsandbrokenfingers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Stock1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5210\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The kunekune girls, Prunella and Fig<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The pigs are named Fig and Prunella, that&#8217;s Fig and Nell for short. As in, &#8216;Fig &#8216;n&#8217; Nell, where have those pigs got to!&#8217;. Deborah named them, but you can thank the Forbearing Husband for their bawdy joint sobriquet.\u00a0Fig &#8216;n&#8217; Nell can look forward to a future providing orchard grass control and porcine entertainment. Soon after the arrival of the piglets we sat &#8212; proud piggy-parents &#8212; watching the girls enthusiastically chow-down on loquats. I wonder how long he can manage without bacon and egg pie?<\/p>\n<p>Now don&#8217;t worry, I haven&#8217;t forgotten about the sheep. I&#8217;ll be back soon to fill you in on all the woolly gossip. I know that Nurse Jenny for one is probably raring to find out about our potential for creating hand spun knitting wool.<\/p>\n<p>* \u00a0I&#8217;m not counting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charmedlife.co.nz\/cowboybootsandbrokenfingers\/?s=dog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dogs and cat<\/a> as stock.
