What happened to the other five is a mystery. Should I be looking for a crucifix wielding hedgehog nicknamed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetvcritic.org\/reviews\/dramas\/buffy-the-vampire-slayer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Buffy<\/a>?\u00a0Or just a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charmedlife.co.nz\/cowboybootsandbrokenfingers\/i-smell-a-rat\/\" target=\"_blank\">rat with garlic breath<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also a bit disappointing that most of the bulbs are only small to middling sized.\u00a0I\u00a0guess that&#8217;s to be expected in a\u00a0first post-weed-mat crop though. I added a good thick\u00a0layer\u00a0of pony poo before planting, but after all those years of oxygen deprivation it&#8217;s going to\u00a0take a while to rebuild\u00a0a decent population of <a href=\"http:\/\/rodaleinstitute.org\/soil-life-microbiology-on-the-farm\/\" target=\"_blank\">soil microbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s okay, gardening is all about having fun while playing the\u00a0long game.\u00a0There&#8217;s plenty more pony poo around\u00a0here, and we&#8217;ll have many\u00a0more garlic crops. Besides if I\u00a0feel the\u00a0need\u00a0to wear a bulb\u00a0of garlic around my\u00a0neck while out clubbing* I may prefer a discreetly dinky version.<\/p>\n<p>* Clubbing? Haha! My idea of an exciting evening these days is a bar of Lindt chocolate, and an episode of <a href=\"http:\/\/westworld.wikia.com\/wiki\/Westworld_Wiki\" target=\"_blank\">Westworld<\/a>\u00a0(and,\u00a0it goes without saying,\u00a0the Forbearing Husband by my side).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s that time.
