I’ve spent Easter unpacking. We schlepped up\u00a0the\u00a0first load\u00a0of our furniture and belongings from\u00a0the old house<\/a>\u00a0last weekend, marking\u00a0the end of our\u00a0‘glamping in the Northland\u00a0house’ phase. It’s\u00a0been\u00a0fun for the last eight\u00a0months, but was getting less so as time went on. There is a lot to be said for the convenience of a fridge that doesn’t leak (much as I’ve been grateful for the use of\u00a0that\u00a0incontinent fridge), and a comfortable settee to collapse into while watching the latest\u00a0episode of The Good Wife<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are far from fully organised, but over the last few days the number of boxes lining the walls has reduced from fifty-plus, down to seven. I’ve been shoving stuff into cupboards and onto shelving any-old-how with a\u00a0promise to myself that I’ll tidy it\u00a0later. I find that hard. I\u00a0like pretty storage<\/a>, but right now just getting everything unpacked is the priority.<\/p>\n
