It’s done. The Auckland house is sold!<\/p>\n

I know, after\u00a0not hearing from me for a while you imagined I’d been strangled\u00a0by rampant JC<\/a>, or perhaps squished by the Whomping Plum<\/a>. But no, I have in fact\u00a0been pacing nervously prior to\u00a0attending the auction of\u00a0our old house (coz what if no-one turns up?), and subsequently\u00a0celebrating (they did), packing more boxes<\/a>, and organising moving trucks.<\/p>\n

Goodbye\u00a0house, we’ll miss you.<\/p><\/div>\n

The old homestead\u00a0had never looked as good as it did during the time it was on the market. It’s amazing what moving out all your less aesthetically pleasing\u00a0stuff (bulging files of\u00a0business and tax records, armchairs that one’s\u00a0been meaning to re-cover for the last ten years, and the resident teenager’s collection of PS3 games) can achieve.<\/p>\n

After twelve years of being Westies<\/a>\u00a0it really is the end of an era.\u00a0Although there is a bit of sadness about leaving the place, I know it’s in good hands. The couple who bought it had clearly fallen in love with it as much as we once did, and were very\u00a0excited to sign the purchase documents.\u00a0They take possession\u00a0in mid-April and it’s nice to know the old place will have a\u00a0new lease of life\u00a0as home to a young\u00a0family.<\/p>\n

On the up side, now I can fully concentrate on the new property, and behold! I have started\u00a0my\u00a0first Northland\u00a0interior\u00a0renovation project. Oh my goodness, just like a REAL blogger. Here is a\u00a0teaser.<\/p>\n
