Here he\u00a0is. The Deceased.<\/p>\n

Don’t feel too sorry for him. Seems he’d been sending his children out most nights to bring home takeaways.<\/p><\/div>\n

He was a big one, and possibly\u00a0the\u00a0daddy of\u00a0the eleven\u00a0smaller rats we and Ella<\/a>\u00a0have scuppered over the last couple of\u00a0months.\u00a0After baiting with egg, corn cob, beetroot and pumpkin seed this dude was caught with an apple core. I can almost see\u00a0him peering\u00a0into the trap saying\u00a0‘Hey look, apple! Wow, and so early in the season too!’. Mind you he’d run out of little rats to send down the chippy<\/a>\u00a0by then\u00a0so he might have been getting hungry.<\/p>\n

Two days before this kill there had been\u00a0another large rat\u00a0in the trap, which\u00a0we think may have been mama rodent. Since Ella has all but abandoned the project<\/a>\u00a0it\u00a0makes us think\u00a0that we’ve possibly cleaned up the\u00a0rat population\u00a0— for now.<\/p>\n

It’s the end of a dynasty. But you know what\u00a0they say, ‘Le roi est mort, vive le roi!<\/a>‘.<\/p>\n
